View from Ayers Rock Resort - Australia. Ayers Rock - Uluru - Australia is a sandstone formation that rises approximately 1,142 feet above the surface and has a circumference of 5.8 miles. It extends approximately 1.5 miles into the ground. It is sacred land to the Aṉangu aboriginal people.

Ayers Rock - Uluru - Australia is a rock formation that rises approximately 1,142 feet above the surface and has a circumference of 5.8 miles. It extends approximately 1.5 miles into the ground. It is sacred land to the Aṉangu aboriginal people.
The sandstone infused with feldspar (Arkosic sandstone) reflects the red light of sunrise and sunset, resulting in a glowing appearance.

The Agra Fort is located across the Yamuna River from the Taj Mahal, A fort stood in Agra since at least 1080 AD. The present fort was built at the sited of the forts ruins. Approximately 1,444,000 workers toiled for eight years to complete it in 1573. The fort is made out of brick and red sandstone and decorated with marble.
