We went to the Friday night parade at the Marine Barracks in Washington, D.C. I thought that it was odd to see a suited gentleman on the roof since the military provided their own uniformed security personnel. The reason soon became clear: The vice-president was in attendance as the guest of honor of the Commandant and this was part of the secret service detail. AIMG 9891-1

The Metropolitan Wind Symphony in concert in March 2016. It takes a great deal of concentration to make harmonious music. I usually play bass trombone with this group, but a broken wrist along with doctor's instructions not to lift more than 5 pounds caused me to miss this concert.
