I wanted to go on a flightseeing trip of Denali when I was in Alaska. I figured that it would be very unlikely since I was booking it months in advance and Denali was covered in clouds about 70 percent of the time. I got lucky and the day that I had to visit was beautiful. We used Talkeetna Air Taxi for the trip. This is one of their planes. The skis are lowered when it is in the air so that it can land on the glacier. AIMG 5518

Prayer wheels

According to Buddhist tradition and belief, prayer wheels are used to accumulate wisdom and merit (good karma) and to purify evil (bad karma). Important texts are written on the wheels and spinning them is believed to garner as much good karma as reading the inscriptions aloud. This photograph was taken at Swayambhunath, the Monkey Temple, complex overlooking the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal. Swayambhunath is an ancient religious complex consisting of a stupa, a number of shrines and temples and a Tibetan monastery, museum and library. ODT: Words of Widom AIMG_0377
