Santorini (Thira), Greece is one of the most beautiful islands in the Aegean Sea. It was named after St. Irene of Thessaloniki who died in 802. To get there by ship, one has to sail through the spectacular caldera (volcanic crater), now filled with sea water, past clifts rising to over 1,000 feet - some with towns on the top. AIMG_3300
