Black vulture at Cano Negro, Costa Rica. The Black Vulture is a scavenger. Although it usually feeds on carrion, it will also eat the eggs of other birds or kill newborn or sickly animals. Females usually lay two eggs in caves, hollow trees or on the bare ground and the chicks are fed by regurgitation. Its head and neck lack feathers and its skin is wrinkled and dark gray. AxMG_2384
