Impassable

13 Feb 2013 257
This street was plowed during the night but at least a foot of snow fell since the last plow truck came by. The blizzard of February 8-9, 2013 dumped two feet of snow in Massachusetts with drifts even higher. It was the 5th worst storm in the history of Boston. The wind was blowing sideways for awhile and left the sides of trees and houses covered with snow. AIMG_2133

Avalance - suburban style

I would not have liked to have been standing under the eaves when the snow slid off the roof. The blizzard of February 8-9, 2013 dumped two feet of snow in Massachusetts with drifts even higher. The wind was blowing sideways for awhile and left the sides of houses - and not merely their roofs - covered with snow. AIMG_2119

Only another 25 feet to the street

The blizzard of February 8-9, 2013 dumped two feet of snow in Massachusetts with drifts even higher. I passed by this house the following day and I am happy to report that the man made it all the way to the street. AIMG_2116

Hunkered in

In Tudor Revival architecture, "[t]he emphasis was on the simple, rustic and the less impressive aspects of Tudor architecture, imitating in this way medieval cottages or country houses. Though the style follows these more modest characteristics, items such as steeply pitched roofs, half-timbering often infilled with herringbone brickwork, tall mullioned windows, high chimneys, jettied (overhanging) first floors above pillared porches, dormer windows supported by consoles, and even at times thatched roofs, gave Tudor revival its more striking effects." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tudor_Revival_architecture The blizzard of February 8-9, 2013 dumped two feet of snow in Massachusetts with drifts even higher. Windshield wipers at the ready

I don't know which is more amusing - the position of the windshield wipers or the basketball hoop filled with snow. The blizzard of February 8-9, 2013 dumped two feet of snow in Massachusetts with drifts even higher. AIMG_2121

You only told me to shovel the driveway

13 Feb 2013 203
This homeowner did a magnificent job of shoveling his driveway but seemed to have forgotten to shovel his car. No matter - there was a two day ban on non-emergency driving to allow municipalities to deal with the snow.
