Part of the circular staircase in the 93-foot-high (28 m) Massachusetts Veterans War Memorial Tower at the summit of Mount Greylock (3,489-foot (1,063-meter)) in northwestern Massachusetts. On a good day, you can see 5 states, but the clouds rolled in as soon as we arrived and we were lucky just to see other mountain ranges. AIMG 6336

The Doge's Palace (Italian: Palazzo Ducale) is a palace built in Venetian Gothic style, and one of the main landmarks of the city of Venice, northern Italy. The palace was the residence of the Doge of Venice, the supreme authority of the Republic of Venice, opening as a museum in 1923. Achilleion Palace in Corfu, Greece, was built in 1890 by Austrian Empress, Elizabeth of Bavaria. After her assasination, German Kaiser Wilhelm II purchased Achilleion Palace and used it as his summer residence. It was used as a military hospital for French and Serbian troops during World War I and as military headquarter for axis powers during World War II. It is now managed by the Hellenic Tourist Organisation and is open to the public. AIMG_4048
