Koala in the wild on Kangaroo Island, Australia
Koalas have a low metabolic rate and sleep for 16 to 18 hours a day. Their diet consists of eucalyptus leaves which are low protein, highly indigestible leaves that contain compounds that are toxic to most other animals. They have two opposable thumbs and sharp claws to assist them in climbing trees where they are safe from preditors, which are predominately dogs and automobiles these days. They have evolved a shrunken brain - probably due to their low energy diet - and approximately 40% of their cranial cavity consists of cerebrospinal fluid.
Young joeys are hidden in the pouch for about six months where they feed on their mother's milk before emerging.

Male Green Iguanas, the largest lizards in Costa Rica, are normally green but they turn orange in breeding season to impress the ladies. They prefer to perch on trees above water. If danger approaches they make their escape by diving into the water below. They normally are arboreal with the female climbing to the ground only to lay eggs.

A man and a goat nap mid-morning while sacred cows look for a meal on the ghats of Varanasi. Varanasi is considered to be a holy city by Buddhists and Jains, and is viewed as the holiest place in the world by Hindus who believe that it was founded by the Hindu deity, Lord Shiva, around 5,000 years ago. It is believed to be one of the oldest continually inhabited cities in the world. Although the Ganges is extremely polluted, people believe that it will physically and spiritually cleanse them. Laundry and bathing can be seen continally along the Ganges at Varanasi.
