My husband's dream car when he was young was a Jaguar XKE. I decided to get him one for his birthday - or at least a toy model of one.
I tried a number of ISO settings ranging from 100 - 1000 ISO and a number of apertures. I settled on 1000 ISO and a large aperture with focus slightly to the left of the front center of the car. It gave the car a nice texture and blur.

The Sunday Challenge: Forced Perspectives.
The real Robby the Robot was a 7 foot tall creation that made his first appearance in the 1956 film, Forbidden Planet. He later appeared in a number of television series including, Lost in Space and The Addams Family. For more information about Robby, check out en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robby_the_Robot .
This model is less than a foot tall. I posed him near a very large house and used a narrow aperture to get the best depth of field. I also used flash to avoid having the much lighter background overwhelm the subject.

The challenge this week for the Sunday Challenge Group was selective lighting. I decided to photograph Scruffy, my toy Indian elephant. Not owning the proper equipment, I used a cookie box as a camera base because my tripod would not go low enough to the ground. I put a crappy flashlight with uneven lighting on the floor at a 45 degree angle to Scruffy to provide an interesting light source.
