I took a photo of bokeh, put it through the kaleidoscope filter at www.pixlr.com and then framed it in Photoshop Elements 15. The original can be found at www.ipernity.com/doc/304817/44085718 .

The snowman cometh
01 Jan 2017 |

I went for a walk with my new Panasonic ZS-100, intending to test it out shooting bokeh. One of my neighbors has a yard cluttered with garishly lighted Christmas displays, including pigs, Yoda, C-3PO, elephants, snowmen and deer which seemed to be the perfect location. Once I got to the site, I realized that it was too dark to see the buttons and my unfamiliarity with the camera made rather difficult to find the correct settings. After much trial and error, I finally succeeded.

These mushrooms were growing on the side of a tree attached to the bark. Seen on a trail off of the Kancamagus highway in New Hampshire.

Bromeliad with bokeh
06 Feb 2011 |
|
|
|
This bromeliad had adapted to living in a rainforest by trapping water and decaying plant material at the base of its leaves. It is an epiphytic plant that grows in the tropical and subtropical regions of the Americas. Its root system is minimal and serves primarliy to hold it to its base, which is frequently a branch, a tree or in this case, a hanging vine. The light shining through the trees seemed ordinary in the viewfinder, but created extraordinary bokeh.

Bokeh by accident

This was an accidental shot taken before the fireworks went off in Boston, Massachusetts on July 4, 2010. It was supposed to be the skyline of Boston but the focus was way off. I liked it anyhow.

Rufous Treepie

Rufous Treepie at Ranthambore National Park in Rajasthan, India. This bird is a member of the crow family and is an omnivore and an opportunistic feeder. It has discovered that tourists in the park are excellent sources for cookies and crackers and will alight on any jeep that stops nearby and pose for pictures in the hopes of getting a treat.
