Cajas National Park, Ecuador Tres Croces at 13,700 feet in altitude is where the road through the park crosses the continental divide. Just walking up this slightly inclined path is enough to leave one who is not acclimated to the altitude (me) breathless.

There is a marvelous bike path along the Yarra River in Melbourne, Australia that leads to the entrance of the Royal Botanic Gardens AIMG_6142

The side area between my garage and my neighbor's fence used to be a tall weed collection. After staring at it for years, I finally cut it back and planted a small garden composed primarily of variegated hostas, rhododendrons and alzaleas. I planted arborvitae to separate it from my neighbor's weed collection. Immediately after planting the arborvitae, I discovered that I was allergic to them and that they caused hives upon contact. I'll keep my distance in the future. ODT: Backyard AIMG_1316

Gleaner Gardens, North Scituate, Rhode Island is a private garden featuring over 100 species of rhododendron and azaleas. Its owners kindly open it to the public on occasion so that they can marvel in its beauty. AIMG_1372
