Prostitution in Quito, Ecuador is legal. This woman told me that since it became legal, women have been able to unionize and look out for each other. They do not need johns or pimps for protection. They are not hassled by corrupt police looking for favors to prevent arrest. They are required to have health screenings on a regular basis.
