It takes great concentration to make great music. These percussionists are attentive to the music as they wait to make their entrance. The MetWinds invited students to sit in with us. Since the stage only held 65 musicians, I sat out of one of the student pieces and photographed some of the students and our musicians from the wings. The lighting was very difficult with warm light reflected from the front and harsh blue light shining down on the percussionists. The Metropolitan Wind Symphony in concert in March 2016. It takes a great deal of concentration to make harmonious music. I usually play bass trombone with this group, but a broken wrist along with doctor's instructions not to lift more than 5 pounds caused me to miss this concert.
