Magerie Glacier

"Margerie glacier is about 21 miles long from its origins in the Fairweather Mountain Ranger in elevations exceeding 9000 feet. Due to the abundance of snow in the mountains and the steepness of slope, the ice of Margerie Glacier flows relatively quickly, estimated to flow about 2000 feet per year, or about 6 feet per day. The glacier does not expand out into the fjord since it rests on an underwater ledge, so the ice falls into the ocean in a process called calving, breaking into icebergs. The icebergs become resting spots for harbor seals, sea otters, black-legged kittiwake gulls and other birds."

Australian Sea Lion - Kangaroo Island, Australia.
After climbing the hill from the beach, this Australian sea lion seemed perplexed and unsure of what to do upon discovering that there were people, and not other sea lions, at the top.
Approximately 15,000 Australian Sea Lions inhabit the southern and western coast of Australia. This sea lion is part of a colony who live on Seal Bay in Kangaroo Island.
Kangaroo Island is the third largest island in Australia after Tasmania and Melville Island. Less that 4,600 people inhabit the island. The island is known for its natural beauty and wildlife.
