July 2009 around Chimtarga 5489 m (Pamir). Here seen from lake Kulikalon.
The UNESCO World Heritage includes several items belonging to Tajikistan, and the Fann Mountains are among them. It is a marvellous land of lakes and snow-covered peaks lying at the boundary of the Pamir-Alay, close to a famous ancient city Samarkand.
This mountain range includes dozens of five and four thousanders and four thousanders with highest point Chimtarga (5 489 m). An authentic wild landscape created by the ancient glaciers: picturesque valleys, gorges, passes, rushing rivers and lakes with different shades ranging from gentle green to deep purple.
