Mossy Hallucigenia?

24 Jan 2008 167
The popular main footpath through the upper reaches of the steep-sided Limb Valley runs halfway up the northern flank of the the valley side. To follow the Limb Brook itself in the valley bottom can entail a somewhat muddy adventure, often through a tangle of undergrowth, fallen trees and branches. Not many people choose this way, so one can be quite alone and mostly hidden from everyone else. I was particularly captivated by this moss-covered pine trunk and its fanciful resemblence to the weird-looking Burgess Shale fossil Hallucigenia ! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hallucigenia
