Here is Lewisham Hospital [?]

My feet, pre-op, 3rd Sept 2006. Big toes are mis-aligned laterally. Tan pattern courtesy of my Teva sandals.

5th Sept 2006, 1 day after operation, which was done under local anaesthetic in the Day Surgery at Lewisham Hospital. This meant that although I couldn't see the gory stuff I could hear the electric bone saw, bone drill and Capital Radio. Eek! Big 'Tom & Jerry' bandage and amusing velcro boot. This stays on for a week.

1 week post-op. At my first post-operative appointment (today) they took off the big bandage - not a pretty sight. Nice to feel the air.

10 days post-op. I've taken the dressing off to have a look. Not a pretty sight, is it? Foot still swollen, stitches still in.

10 days post-op. My left big toe is definitely looking straighter, although swollen.

1 week post-op

18 days post-op. Stitches out, still a bit swollen, but improving.

18 days post-op. Hardly any pain on walking. I might go back to work next week!
