Unusual name cast into a supporting member under the passenger footbridge at Penge East Station. Engineer Henry Spencelayh was said to have known Dickens. His son Charles became a famous artist, and was married in Penge, although the family lived in Rochester. www.chislehurst-society.org.uk/PDFs/CharlesSpencelayh.pdf The station was built in 1863.
