Picture made by mistaken impression

When I saw the sigh, I thought it said "Pasta Free" rather than "Pasta Tree." A pasta-free restaurant is a good idea, I think; a pasta tree would get soggy when it rains.
The first part of the ritual . . .
Milwaukee by night

This was taken from the back of a boat, handheld. Mostly, I wanted to see how well the little Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 would handle a picture lit by nothing but the reflection from the sky on a cloudy night, and how well its image stabilization performed. Pretty impressive on both counts, I think. I should note that this is a JPEG straight out of the camera. I suspect that the RAW file would be even cleaner.
Michael and Rachel get married

X100 panoramas are good for the wedding album, with one terrible caveat: bad things happen to those in the picture who move, as with the young woman on the right at the end of the pew who moved and got crushed for her efforts. Still, I think the picture works. This is set to make a 120-degree picture, with the camera held vertically to increase the picture's height. Here endeth the lesson.
By the way, the picture looks a lot better if you click on it to make it bigger.
In the days of yore . . .

. . . if yore were early June 2011. Taken off Milwaukee and decolored in post-processing. Looks old, though, doesn't it. It's the schooner Denis Sullivan, a reproduction launched in 2000.
