Or perhaps a child with serious OCD (there were many of these stacks)? We cannot know how this stack of stones came to be on a Hocking River sandbar. All we know for sure is that the Hocking is a reliable source of perfect skipping stones.

When the water is low, the old White's Mill dam is a pleasant enough place, though the area below the dam is fraught with peril. When the water is high, it's downright deadly, as witness two drownings there in as many years.

This is where a man drowned in July 2017 and, though the water rescuers couldn't know it at the time, another man would apparently drown two months after the training. I say apparently because by early August his body still hadn't been recovered.
