So, Bomba filled up for August with all sorts of Randoms. This household was a combination of some with holiday homes here, and some extended family. Smelling a barbecue on, I peered over our terrace to sticky-beak. I was spotted, conversed with, and minutes later, we were invited in for a drink. Which became a few, some bruschetta, a glass or three of wine, spaghetti ragout, and grappa to chase it all down. We brought some home made chocolate icecream. A memorable dinner indeed... although I do struggle to remember the exact manner in which it wrapped up!

We have been expecting great things from the food in South Africa. And it all got off to a great start. Trout, garlic snails, crumbed fried fetta. This was in Dullstroom, in the heart trout country. A yummy start to our holiday.

Our final meal for this trip was a great, typical Roman dining experience. Table on the street, Osso Bucco, and veal with prosciutto and sage. Yum.

The fresh water prawns in the Río San Juan are notoriously big. This is a prawn in shrimp sauce!

Judith and Sicco are from Hamburg. We met them while whale-watching, and had dinner with them that evening. We visited the thermal swimming pool as well. The next night, we got invited over to the place they were staying and "ate in" with them, a mixture of all our camp foods, but it ended up being quite a gourmet meal!
