A place out of the wind was the number one criterion when choosing where to stop for lunch.

We found a great atmosphere at a restaurant along a portico. We had come armed with a list of "must try" foods, that a Bomba friend had equipped Jo with. OK, so we didn't try them all, but three of them did find their way on to our table for subsequent demolishing.

Meat, pickles, bread. Cheap and easy. What more do you need for lunch?

We were hoping for a good, authentically local meal. But it was long after normal lunch hours. We happened upon this place, which looked like it had finished service for the afternoon, but the chef and waitress jumped up from their pranzo to seat us and fill us with fantastic local dishes.
