Built in 1820, it was the high light for a pair of leading lights used to aid navigation of the Tay. This light is the only one of the three Tayport lights that is still operational.

Built in 1823, it was the low light for a pair of leading lights used to aid navigation of the Tay. Its use was discontinued in 1848 when it was decided that it was too close to the high light for accurate navigation. It was replaced by the pile light off shore.

So, as the Tay Road Bridge and Dundee come into sight, we come to the end of the Fife Coastal Path. Its been fun. You can see more photos from the FCP here . PS Note how the bridge slopes - its even more obvious comparing the piers at either end.
