Bench

This bench in on the path above the sea wall in Pennan. As can be seen, the sea lifts pebbles up over the wall onto the path and this bench is gradually being buried!

Quite a mooring!

Looking from Camusteel (near Applecross) across the Inner Sound towards Raasay and Skye. Sometimes you just get lucky, and on this day I certainly did! Just turned a corner heading out of Camusteel en route to Toscaig and saw this. Jammed on the brakes and got camera out! Thanks to JWP for format comments. For a different perspective, have a look at this photo .

Misty isles

13 May 2011 132
This is a sight I saw one day looking across the Inner Sound to Skye (at the back), Raasay (front left) and Rona (front right). The sea fog was obscuring everything apart from the silhouettes of the islands. And the scene really did have this blue tint to it.

Fidra

Fidra is one of a group of islands just off the coast in the Firth of Forth (which includes the Bass Rock). These islands were formed due to volcanic action. The lighthouse was constructed in 1885.

Bridge over the Biel Burn

04 Jan 2011 147
The bridge over the Biel burn is known locally as the "Bridge to nowhere" but I think that the "Bridge from nowhere to nowhere" is a bit more accurate here! At low tide the Biel burn separates Belhaven/Dunbar from large sand flats in Belhaven Bay - this bridge allows access. At high tide the sand flats get covered and the burn disappears.
