There is increasing conflict between Wildfowlers, who flock to Findhorn in the season, to shoot geese, and local geese-huggers, who have taken to wandering into the killing zone in an effort to deter wildfowlers. The Council is attempting to mediate, so far unsuccessfully. They pose an enormous threat to aircraft, large and small, flying into the runways at Kinloss, less so now that it is an army base, but they have taken out a Nimrod in the past by being ingested into its engines...I have had to delay landing as a result of the field b eing covered in low-flying geese at sunset, when they are particularly hard to see, flying into the setting sun.

Daily sight at this time of year - makes me rather glad I am not flying out of Kinloss at the moment as these fly almost directly overhead the base heading for Findhorn Bay - some years ago they brought down a Nimrod aircraft, so they would make short work of a light plane if you flew into a bunch of them...
