Oystercatcher deciding where to lay their eggs!

For years Oystercatchers laid their eggs in the gravel track on our property. A few years ago I had limestone slate laid there, which confused them the following year. However they are now checking out a small patch of gravel directly outside the window!

Oystercatcher's eggs and nest on gravel drive. These were laid almost a month ago now. Generally they will be hatched between 21 and 28 days, so we could have some new oystercatchers joining us in the next three days or so...the parents have taken turns in sitting on them, despite tractor mowers driving past them once a week.

I can drive past, feet away, on the tractor mower and he/she remains calmly seated, but the moment anything she recognises as human is nearby, she marches away smartly, knowing that noone will find her eggs camouflaged so well, amongst the gravel. This was taken "on the move" on the mower!
