Howgate Wonder is valued also for its good regular crops and for its hardiness – it can withstand harsh frosts. Howgate Wonder can be used for cooking and for eating. It was raised in Howgate Lane, Bembridge, Isle of Wight from a Blenheim Orange, Newton Wonder cross in 1915 – 16 and introduced in 1932.
