Where The Earth Moves

A view of part of the magical Quiraing on the Isle of Skye viewed from the Uig side. I say magical because the landscape is truly fantastic, with craggy cliffs, pinnacles and plateaus as well as small lakes The Quiraing is part of the Trotternish Ridge escarpment which was formed by a series of landslips, and is one of the the largest in Britain, the Quiraing being the only one where the land is still moving. The road below it needs regular repair due to the way the land shifts a few centimetres each year. The Quiraing comes from the Old Norse 'Kvi Rand'. meaning ' Round Fold'. The 'fold' of the landscape was used back then to conceal cattle from Viking raiders. I have added Carole King's 'I Feel The Earth Move' as my link www.youtube.com/watch?v=6913KnbMpHM Best viewed large I think. Thank you
