Taken at Oban. Standing at the entrance the sea in the distance looks blue and inviting, but over the fence on the left some visitors in the form of grey geese found the sea of green grass more to their liking! (Please see PiPs). The group in the second PiP amused me, - all the other geese are facing one way but there was just one who turned his head to have a 'gander' at something over his 'shoulder'. Porlock Weir - Sea Defences and Pillbox. HFF! The sea defences seem to divide the 'beach' in this shot and two young girls have 'conquered' the pillbox. Birnbeck Island. I have memories of this pier when it was still in use and paddle steamer boat trips that left from here. It is sad to see it broken and neglected. December Sunset Burnham Pier, the shortest pier in Britain, bathed in golden light. The pier is over 100 years old and was the first to be constructed with reinforced concrete.
