Zur Zeit ist wieder einer unserer häufigsten Bockkäfer auf und in Blüten zu sehen, nämlich der Gefleckte Schmalbock (Rutpela maculata) , wo er sich an Blütenstaub und Nektar satt frisst. Die Raupen entwickeln sich versteckt im Holz von alten und abgestorben Sträuchern und Bäumen.
