Bitte vergrößern - Please enlarge Diese helle und farbenfrohe Barockkirche fand ich bei einer Wanderung im fränkischen Dorf Retzbach am Main. Sie wurde 1736 - 1740 vom bedeutendsten Baumeister des Barock und Rokoko in Süddeutschland Balthasar Neumann erbaut. Zu seinen bekanntesten Werken gehört bestimmt die Würzburger Residenz, heute Weltkulturerbe. Und noch eine (lustige) Besonderheit in dieser Kirche: Für die Feldgeschworenen und den Gemeinderat ist eine eigene Bank mit Stütze (!) auch heute noch reserviert (siehe PiP). de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balthasar_Neumann I found this bright and colourful baroque church during a hike in the Franconian village of Retzbach am Main. It was built between 1736 and 1740 by Balthasar Neumann, the most important baroque and rococo architect in southern Germany. One of his most famous works is certainly the Würzburg Residence, today a World Heritage Site. And another (funny) peculiarity in this church: a separate bench with prop (!) is still reserved for the local council (see PiP).
