Bitte vergrößern - Please enlarge Das ist natürlich der Bamberger Reiter, ein steinernes Reiterbild im Bamberger Dom. Er stammt aus der ersten Hälfte des 13. Jahrhunderts und gehört zu den plastischen Hauptwerken der späten Stauferzeit. Er ist eines der bekanntesten Wahrzeichen der Stadt Bamberg. Bis heute ist ungeklärt, welche Person der Geschichte hier dargestellt wird. It dates from the first half of the 13th century and is one of the main sculptures of the late Staufer period. It is one of the most famous landmarks of the city of Bamberg. It is still unclear which person of history is depicted here. Note the grim face on the console right below (see note in the picture).
