Im Park des Juliusspitals Würzburg stehen zwei alte Ginkgo-Bäume , deren Blätter innerhalb weniger Tage leuchtend gelb wurden. Der Grund ist, dass sich der Baum durch die abnehmende Tageslänge und sinkende Temperaturen auf den Winter vorbereitet, indem er das wertvolle Chlorophyll abbaut und im Stamm deponiert.
