These used to attach themselves to our spanish style stucco house in Arizona as a child. He'll go around eating for a bit then stick himself to a leave or structure in Pupa stage before emerging as an adult ladybird beetle.

I've never seen purple and orange larvae before always some variation of black and orange or yellow. Any one have any idea if these are a particular kind?

I've had an update on this little guy, Thanks to Dioctria for the ID on this little creature as the Lacewing Larve. They eat aphids and then use the bodies and other junk they find as camoflouge. Dioctria has a few others shots as well that are quite fantastic if you'd like to see them: Here and One of the insect under the death .
