Now I've said 'Large Yellow Underwing' about 5 times and they all turn out to be some other of the 'underwing' group of moths.. So once again I am not sure about this one, but it was huge, and the top shot seems right.

lol...This is of course the Large Yellow Underwing playing dead, look at that fat probiscis of his.. Great for all the night feeding this moth does on many flowers. They seem to love Buddliea!

Recently we had our patio surface redone, right down to the concrete and re tiled, so had to remove all the plants and things. This guy was pupating under a chair so we brought him inside. He emerged, possibly a bit earlier than he would have.

Feeding on the Buddlia, they normally feed at night but this guy came out of the moth trap hungry...lol
