Stars of the catch for 9 July 2013. One of first of Many we've had this year so far.

Stars of a finally more normal size catch back on 18 June 2013 NFY

Not sure what this will be, it was about 2 inches so a large moth or butterfly. Update: Thanks a million to the folks over at Back Garden Moths for the ID on this and especially to The Lepidopterist for all the helpful information as well as the ID. Found this chrysalis poking out of the very wet muddy path, where it was likely to be trampled. It was squirming and moving and appears to be fine, but we'd sure like to know what it is going to be. Some folks may recall us finding a pupa of a moth in the beginning of April ( Large Pupa ) So we brought it home due to its unfortunate location in a wet muddy footpath and raised her. We've kept her in dirt in a bug house with wire mesh sides, lightly misted her about every 2 - 3 days and in a cool dark room and she finally emerged today :D What a fantastic face she has!

Some folks may recall us finding a pupa of a moth in the beginning of April ( Large Pupa ) So we brought it home due to its unfortunate location in a wet muddy footpath and raised her. We've kept her in dirt in a bug house with wire mesh sides, lightly misted her about every 2 - 3 days and in a cool dark room and she finally emerged today :D Plump and pink and flight tested we took her back to the location we found her at Filsham and let her go.

We took her back to Filsham where we found her and let her fly off :)
