Lacewing Larvae Under Junk

29 Jul 2009 138
I've had an update on this little guy, Thanks to Dioctria for the ID on this little creature as the Lacewing Larve. They eat aphids and then use the bodies and other junk they find as camoflouge. Dioctria has a few others shots as well that are quite fantastic if you'd like to see them: Here and One of the insect under the death . Not to mention a lot of other fantastic macro shots they have :)

Not entirely sure but I suspect this is a tiny Caddisfly, he was about 1.5-2mm from head to wingtip. Very small but quite nice looking bug. Update: Thanks to the folks over at Ispot for help with the ID of A Lacewing (Conwentzia sp.) I never would have even thought about a power winged lacewing.
