Oddly, or well maybe not sooo oddly in all the shots I got of these lovely butterflies the two days we saw them, not one female. They had just emerged a few days prior and its not that uncommon for males to emerge first in some species of insect. I suppose thats to develope a territory.

Really stunning faces I think, with those dark eyes.

This is a new butterfly for me, and I was quite taken with them. Really wanted a roosting shot, but with all the rain in the evenings not until the last day did we find a few roosting higher up before a storm rolled in.
