I have to say that my other half and I have both noticed in our areas we frequent, a serious lack of butterflies this year, at least of this sort which over winter as pupa and don't hibernate. We had such a rally last year down south especially of the second brood small butterflies. Brede High Wood is usually a wash with all species, hardly seen more than 3 or 4 in all our trips this year. Anyone else seeing this?

As evening rolled around this guy was resting on the grass waiting for morning I suppose, because they are flighty as heck and I was inches from him.

I said I wasn't going to do this anymore..."no more common blue butterflies!" ...well when you get them in the evening dosile, waiting for another day its hard to resist.. :)

Pretty much sums up the butterfly season, if not rain then wind to contend with, and yet she is still kickin :D
