These used to attach themselves to our spanish style stucco house in Arizona as a child. He'll go around eating for a bit then stick himself to a leave or structure in Pupa stage before emerging as an adult ladybird beetle.

Saw one of these last time we went to this river at Filsham and got lucky enough to find this one hanging by the banks. They generally prefer to be on lilly leaves in the water.

Update: Thanks to Ryan Brookes for the ID on this one. Once again I've looked and looked but couldn't find this moth. He was fluttering through the grass along the river bank in Filsham Reedbed in East Sussex UK, so not being in his 'normal' sitting position has made ID harder for a n00b like me..lol
