National Moth Night One, Sept 18th 2009
East Sussex back garden
This little guy was definitely the star of my show. The Moth night was concentrating on migrants and although this is a common moth he is both a migrant species and a new one for me.

Update: as per a general consensus now we've got the ID of the Lesser Yellow Underwing, thanks to George here, and Benny over at Back Garden Moths.
I have to say I really would have thought I'd have noticed the yellow as we watched this guy land in the light, but hey I must have been blinded by the lights myself :)

This one is a bit more uncommon so was happy to see him, they are a migrant species that established themselves in a few locations.
