It's very difficult to be sure if this is in fact the Apple Ermine or the very closely marked Orchard Ermine moth, the cilia on the Apple tend to be more greyish.

These are very difficult to distinguish from Orchard Ermine but the whiter background of the wing is a feature. Only way to be 100% is to send them to the chop :0
