I chased a few of these around Filsham the other night, but no good shots, this although only from the side turned out ok, from Park Gate in Kent. Liz and I had a great time hanging out waiting for more to arrive, we saw 10 species that I can count on the day in one small lovely field. One she doesn't know about turned out a awful shot, but is just recognizable as a Brimestone Butterfly she pointed out to me from across the field "Large white to your right!" I didnt pay near enough attention to it as I was busy stalking (lovingly) a Southern Hawker Dragonfly :S

I had forgotten I did get one snap before he charged me and I wrestled him to the ground.. that one turned out a bit blurred, the one just before we ate him! Honest Gov...

Brown Argus face on.

The common blue was not about to share his territory, females, or flower with this Brown Argus.

New species for me is the Brown Argus, I had thought at the time this was a very nice female common blue, but when I got home I could see it was infact a lovely new species.

I really enjoyed my Orchid hunting with Liz, I soon learned its serious business for some folks, and I just enjoyed these lovely wildflowers and wild names that go with them. This one has to be one of my favorites though, look at those faces inside the hoods.. lol

We stopped by this location on the way home, I love this valley. Tiny Nature reserve with lots of Orchids and butterflies and moths.
