Rabbits
08 Jul 2009 |
|
Baby rabbits taken at Filsham School/Saxon Wetland, which by the wee hours of the morning this field had turned into a raging river of water about 3-4' deep.
We received 3months of rain fall in a 4 hour period and it didn't let up much all day long.
Hope all the little bunnies went to higher ground :/

I'm loving the raynox, but now that I can photograph such small creatures the world of ID'ing them becomes huge as well..lol
This turns out to be the nymph stage of Oncotylus viridiflavus, ID provided by Joe with a Camera on another photo of mine. Thanks!

Ladybird with Aphids and Ant
16 Jul 2009 |
|
The ant was running around like mad because the ladybird threatened the aphids.
These ants tend to the aphids, protect them, and care for them like we might cattle or sheep. They eat the honey like substance the aphids put out when petted.
Neat hu?

Ant Guarding Aphids
16 Jul 2009 |
|
I watched this for a bit, I've been looking for these ants and aphids together but it was a bonus to find them being bombarded by the Ladybird.
As you can see here the Ant seems to have succeded in persuading the ladybird to move on for now.

Cave Spider with Egg Sac
27 Oct 2008 |
|
Taken at Filsham Reed Bed.
I had no idea the mom was so close until we got a look at this pic at home close up, freaky and neat. She stays attached to the sac to guard against any thing interfering with the sac, glad i didn't poke my camera inside the log!!
