The wildlife carer will need at least 40 minutes to get to our place from Thorpdale, so we now have her in a cage, on a blanket, with a bowl of water close enough to easily drink from. Other than in the photo, the room is kept pretty dark.

The koala looked and felt unharmed, but had little energy and seemed to pass out at one point. We thought she had died, but then she came to.

Wildlife Victoria were having a hard time finding an available wildlife carer (they're all volunteers) or vet, so we finally took her back home.

I keep a blanket in the car for such situations. Koalas have big sharp claws and are stronger than they look. I wrapped her up and took her to the car, where we rang the vet (closed) and the correct number for WIldlife Victoria (1300 -094-535)

Our neighbours had been unable to contact Wildlife Victoria. Turns out they had the wrong number. The correct number peoples is 1300 -094-535.

On our way home from Saturday morning shopping and saw a couple of neighbours' cars by the road near our farm. We stopped to see if they needed help. It was an injured koala that they had been watching over for an hour.
