We made a nest box out of a barrel, firmly chocked on both sides, with straw insulation underneath. Margery decided she preferred to do it the old-fashioned way and pulled all the straw outside to build a nest in the open. She has 10 eggs under her. Fingers crossed. (Our old goose Bets stays close by to help out.)

Our young Pilgrim geese pair, Godric & Margery, have hatched their first babe, little Bryan Gosling. Hurrah!

Bryan Gosling spends his time with dad Godric, while mum Margery stays on the remaining eggs. They are now 2 days overdue, so not looking hopeful. We're surprised she hasn't chucked the eggs out yet.
