We have three different sorts of duck now: Pekin, Cayuga and Muscovy. They all get along quite well in their multiduckism.

A brief swim in their mini pond, and then we remove it. At one week, they don't have the oil on their down to protect them, so they can get chilled and die.

Our Finnish WWOOFer Heli is smitten with our little black duckling. It answers her every time she peeps to it.

Our little Cayuga duckling Beetle was the only one to hatch in the incubator. He was so lonely, so we bought a pair of Muscovy ducklings to keep him company. We're also thinking of changing from Pekin ducks to Muscovies, so these may become our breeding pair for next summer.

Fonzie adores baby animals, and these three week-old ducklings are no exception. He spends a lot of time watching them, wagging his tail gently. Here they're on the move from their indoor crate to their new home in the outdoor nursery attached to the duck pen.
