The Birchip Hotel

Back to Birchip and then onwards to Mildura. We passed our overnight stop, the Birchip Hotel, once again.

Birchip is proud of its bigger-than-life-size "Mallee Bull", which is weird as this is not cattle country and not really even in the Mallee. This is still Wimmera, isn't it?

stopover in Birchip

05 Oct 2014 90
We stopped for the night in Birchip, to visit Lyndon and Jess, and to rest up for Mungo. We stayed in the lovely old Birchip Hotel. ($80 for a double with a very comfy bed)

The land in this area is about as different to our area as it gets: flat, dry, sandy, sparse in vegetation, and (dare I say) bleak looking.
