After returning my rented car in Phoenix I took a flight to Chicago. So I leave all the wonderful nature in US-West and will now post some images of this great town at Lake Michigan in Illinois. Chicago has about 2.7 Mio. citizens, 9.5 Mio. for the metropole region. Lori Elaine Lightfoot (born August 4, 1962) is an American attorney and politician who serves as the 56th and current mayor of Chicago. The Chicago Theatre on this photo, originally known as the Balaban and Katz Chicago Theatre, is a landmark theater located on North State Street. Built in 1921, the Chicago Theatre was the flagship for the Balaban and Katz (B&K) group of theaters. Currently it's operated as a performing arts venue for stage plays, magic shows, comedy, speeches, sporting events and popular music concerts. scanned slide, Minolta X700

This is the last image about the Teatro America in Havana. For me it was quite an exciting exploration of Art déco architecture.

Opened on 29th March 1941, the architects were Fernando Martinez Campos and Pascual de Rojas. It is built within the Art déco "Edificio Rodriguez Vazquez" which is an 11 storey high building, containing ground floor businesses, 64 apartments and includes another pre-existing theatres. The Casa de la Musica is located next door. It is incredible beautiful inside, and we were lucky to find a way in. It was a movie theatre earlier, but is now used as a live performance theater. It has 1775 seats and is a smaller version of the Radio City Music Hall in New York.

The main lobby, which depicts a favorite element of Art Deco decorators, the sign of the zodiac, and all other interiors are decorated in modern lines of the strictest Art Deco. The theater has preserved to this day all of its original details, including the furniture.
