Lago Futalaufquen

The next lake of this Argentinean lake region, the last one for a while ;-) All the recent lake photos have been taken in the "Parque Nacional Los Alerces". Alerce or Fitzroya is a monotypic genus in the cypress family. The single living species, Fitzroya cupressoides, is a tall, long-lived conifer native to the Andes mountains of southern Chile and Argentina, where it is an important member of the Valdivian temperate rain forests. Common names include alerce, lahuán (Spanish, from the Mapuche Native American name lawal), and "Patagonian cypress". The genus was named in honour of Robert FitzRoy. scanned slide, Minolta X700

Butch Cassidy - HFF!

18 Jun 2021 27 33 346
Robert LeRoy Parker (April 13, 1866 – November 7, 1908), better known as Butch Cassidy, was an American train and bank robber and the leader of a gang of criminal outlaws known as the "Wild Bunch" in the Old West. Cassidy and "Sundance Kid" Longabaugh fled later to Argentina. They settled in a four-room log cabin on a 61 km² ranch that they purchased on the east bank of the Rio Blanco near Cholila, just east of the Andes in the Chubut. There we found this little Cafeteria, named after him, full of historical photographs. - scanned slide, Minolta X700 HFF and a sunny weekend to all!
